These are the responsibilities and expectations of the mentee: 

1. I will assume personal responsibility to acquire or improve skills and knowledge as it relates to my education. 
2. I will be an active listener, ask questions, and solicit feedback from my mentor. 
3. I will be fully open and honest on my expectations, goals, challenges, and concerns academically. 
4. I will attend meetings and/or program activities agreed upon with my mentor. 
5. I will commit to any scheduled appointments with my mentor and contact him/her should I need to cancel or reschedule in a timely manner. 
6. I understand that the mentor is also a student and will allow flexibility of their time and resources. 
7. I will contact my mentor to make him/her aware of any obstacles that might hinder my academic success. 
8. I understand that I can opt-out if I feel that I can no longer commit to the program and will speak with the Student Peer Mentor Program Advisor for next steps. 
9. I understand that if I am in violation of the student code of conduct, I may be removed from the Student Peer Mentor program. 
10. I understand that if the mentorship relationship is a mismatch, I will reach out to the Student Peer Mentor Program Advisor for next steps.
